  <dc:description>A journal kept by Law.  It covers the end of his time in the Royal Navy, on HMS Excellent and covers the time he left the Royal Navy and deliberated his calling to a religious life. On 15 January 1854 he joined the Society of Jesus. Includes an insert in the handwriting of Law's father, William Towry Law, who also wrote an entry in the book after the end of Law's entries.  Pasted in the book is a newspaper clipping of Law's ordination in 1865.</dc:description>
