  <dc:title>Attested copy of a letter from Dr Wm Gifford, dated 8th August 1596. In Tierney's Dodd Vol.III p.XCV, there is a note on the subject of this letter. It is supposed to be written to Robert Markham amongst whose papers it was found. The object is to procure the removal of Fr Holt. It complains of the persecution that he suffered, on account of his disapproval of Fr Person's book on the Royay Sucession</dc:title>
