<dc:title>Grove Park, St Joseph</dc:title>
<dc:description>For many years a house at No 1 Bolton Road was used as a chapel of ease to serve the Catholic population of Grove Park. Towards the end of the 1950s, the decision was taken to demolish part of the house and build a new chapel to accommodate some 180 people. The new building, designed by Donald Plaskett Marshall in 1959-60, was linked by a porch and sacristy to the house which then became the presbytery. Completed in 1964, the church of St Joseph was consecrated on 23 Feb 1973. In the 1990s a parish room was added on the north side and a narthex-porch created at the west end by Eckhard Weisner, a German architect who liked to work in wood.
The parish is temporarily paired with the parishes of Our Lady of Grace & St Edward’s, Chiswick, and with St Dunstan’s, Gunnersbury. They are in the Hounslow Deanery.</dc:description>
