This photograph shows Abbot Knowles, wearing his Abbot's formal robes and holding a crook with his left hand, standing [possibly on the occasion of becoming Abbot at Fort Augustus] outside a stone building; Abbot Knowles, a Benedictine monk, was clothed in 1901 and professed in 1902; he died on 13th April 1965
