DescriptionThis publishing proof shows Mgr Charles Treanor, Rector of St Peter's College, Cardross, standing in front of a tiled fireplace, dressed in his robes of office, with his left hand resting on a chair and his right hand holding a beretta. Mgr Treanor, wearing spectacles, is unsmiling. The title of the publishing proof, printed at the foot, is "The Right Rev Monsignor Charles Treanor, DD, Rector of St Peter's College". Mgr Treanor was ordained in Rome in 1914 and succeeded Mgr Forbes as Rector of St Peter's College, Cardross in 1945. He received the high dignity of Protonotary Apostolic in 1960 and died in Glasgow on 24 Janary 1963, aged 74. Please note that on the reverse of the publishing proof there is a photograph of the exterior of St Peter's College, Darleith.
