Description
This postcard, which is postmarked 21 December 1938 and bears an old, red, one penny stamp, shows the interior of Our Lady and St Michael Church in Tomintoul, in particular the altar and Stations of the Cross; the postcard was written by the Rev Bernard Auer, then priest at Our Lady and St Michael Church, to Peter F Anson in Macduff who was a Benedictine monk; Our Lady and St Michael Church was built in 1837 and, as at 2009, has an estimated Catholic population of 100 with Tombae and Chapeltown.
