DescriptionThis old postcard, with postage of a halfpenny, is entitled "Interior, St James's, Buckie, and shows a photograph of an altar with an adjacent plinth topped by a statue of Our Lady, with a distinctive fleur de lys wallpaper behind the altar; [there is no listing in The Catholic Directory for Scotland for a St James Church in Buckie prior to the current St Peter's Church which was built in 1857; presumably, therefore, St James Church was the temporary Chapel converted from a hall in 1832, prior to being replaced by the new St Peter's Church.]
