Description
The church of St Peter and St Edward, Palace Street, Westminster, was built in 1856 by William Wilkinson Wardell. An upper storey was added by 1863 and further alterations were made in 1880 by J F Bentley. The 2 storey building with a basement was of yellow brick with red dressings and a slate pitched roof to the parapet. There were 7 bays to Wilfred Street and round arched windows paired to the ground floor. The interior contained a high altar constructed in 1867 and a south altar constructed in 1863, both by J F Bentley, who also designed the furnishings. It became a Grade II listed building on 5 February 1970.
