Correspondence relating to three former students at St Edmund's College, Ware, who were killed in action in 1917. They were:
George Joseph Benedict Conolly (1895-1917), 46th Canadian Infantry Regiment, killed by shellfire at Avion near Lens on 3 June 1917.
Herbert Prudent Oates (son of Austin George Oates (1888-1917), KSG, Private Secretary to Cardinal Vaughan), killed at the Battle of Menin Road, 20 September 1917
Edward Ernest Parker (1880-1917), killed by shellfire at Ypres, 7 July 1917
The letters were from relatives supplying information and photographs to Canon Edwin Hubert Burton, President of St Edmund's College, Ware, for inclusion in obituaries for the fallen men, all of which appear in The Edmundian, Vol XII, No 73, December 1917
