[Ecclesiastical Superior of the Mission sui iuris of the islands of Ascension, St Helena and Tristan da Cunha]. The Forty Hours, or Quarant'Ore, was a regualr event in the parish, held on Corpus Christi Thursday, when the Covent Garden stallholders would decorate the church with flowers. Mgr Ronald Knox was regularly invited to preach. The order of service is illustrated with black and white woodcut prints and a colour image of the Blessed Sacrament on the cover. |
