DescriptionA black and white photograph depicting the Centenary of Catholic Emancipation procession led by a priest with his head bowed, carrying a processional cross. The priest is flanked by two clergy men, possibly altar servers, each carrying a processional candlestick, while senior clergy members can also be seen in the procession wearing birettas hats. Crowds of onlookers are visible in the middleground to the left of the image. The caption on the reverse side of the image reads 'Centenary of Catholic Emancipation. Celebration by Cardinal Bourne of a votive mass of thanksgiving in commemoration of the coming into force of the Act of Catholic Emancipation a hundred years ago, at Westminster Cathedral.'
