Description	Correspondence and other papers relating to the Kensington Confession Case. The Kensington Confession Case concerned an accusation that Fr Walter Robinson had broken the seal of the confessional by repeating details of the confession of Mr Rutherford-Smith. These details regarded accusations that Clara Rutherford-Smith had been conducting a long running affair with a Catholic priest. The papers in this collection relate to Mr Rutherford-Smith's initial accusation of Fr Robinson, Fr Robinson's subsequent acquittal by the Inquisition, and Mrs Rutherford-Smith's correspondence with her alleged lover.
