Description	Correspondence regarding the reaction to the proposal for a Joint Christian Council of Action to be established following the Stoll Theatre Meetings held on 10-11 May 1941, and the future of the Sword of the Spirit. The file includes a copy of the proposed Barrow Christian Social Fellowship by Rev Chad Varah, and a series of editorials from The Methodist Recorder on the subject of Basic Principles of a Christian Social Order, prompted by the letter signed by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, Cardinal Hinsley, and the Moderator of the Free Church Federal Council. There is also a memo by A C F Beales on the 'Function, Organisation & Work of A United Christian Council of Action' and a 'Note on the future of the Sword of the Spirit' based on discussions between members of the Executive Committee in July 1941.
